A new Altertox Academy podcast series about the diverse activities of 3Rs centres across Europe has been launched. The individual episodes of the series give listeners an exciting insight into the concrete work of the various centres and explain the ways in which the centres strengthen and advance the implementation of the 3R principles in their countries in research and teaching.
In the second episode, out now, Arti Ahluwalia from the Centro 3R in Italy and member of the Charité 3R Scientific Advisory Board talks about the challenges of transposing the EU Directive 2010/63/EU on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes into Italian legislation - a topic that is currently also affecting German legislation.
"Our vision is to make everyone aware, not only lecturers and students in universities, but also the general public, that the application of the 3Rs is synonymous with good, responsible research," says Arti.
In the first episode of the podcast, Adrian Smith informs about the activities of the Norwegian 3Rs centre Norecopa and presents the PREPARE guidelines for planning animal experiments.
