Event for expert public only

Animal experimentation is still playing a major role within the field of biomedical and translational research. However, due to limited transferability on the one side as well as strong technological progress and ethical concerns on the other, alternative models get more in focus to address central scientific questions. The Charité 3R PhD course “3R Curriculum on Animal Ethics and the 3R Principle in Biomedical Research” introduces along the 3R principle of “Replacement, Reduction and Refinement” the current developments in this field, using interactive seminars as well as hands-on sessions. Furthermore, ethical aspects of different methods and animal welfare in biomedical research will be discussed. This course is aimed at PhD/doctoral students only, affiliated to any university, and the course language is English.
The next course is an on-site event at Charité (Campus Mitte and Campus Virchow-Klinikum). You can participate in the basic seminars at day 1 only, September 4th (course part I, workload: 0.4 ECTS-CP) or you participate in the whole course week, September 4th-8th (course part I+II, workload: 2.5 ECTS-CP).
